We Are What We Eat!!!

Our 7th and 8th grade students were fortunate enough to have Miss Carly Sopko, Registered Dietitian from the Washington Shop-Rite, come in and speak to them about nutrition. Carly explained that the students have all the tools needed to make healthy and smart choices when it comes to meals and snacks. She also explained the importance of a balanced nutritious diet and it's effects on academic performance.

We are so lucky to have such a valuable resource available for our students and families. Please feel free to contact Carly with any questions or for some free advice:

VERY IMPORTANT

Please watch the following video from 60 minutes regarding the increase use of heroin in our society. The information is well presented and informative, but also very concerning. Thanks to Mrs. Diaz for alerting us to this video. Her work with the Municipal Alliance is outstanding and she is constantly working to improve our community.

Students will be participating in fitness assessments in grades 4-8 physical education classes. This is the first of four assessments they will have during the school year. This will help students track their progress towards fitness goals.
Family Life classes are working towards understanding Safety, Wellness and Health.
