YMCA

Why? Many of you may ask this question even if you had the chance to view the performance at the Spring Concert. Many thanks to everyone who came out to support the students at the concert. We had a great time and raised a lot of money to help supplement our library. Hope everyone had a great time.

Another Great Performance

The OCS archery team overcame some enormous obstacles on the way to and the way home from Kentucky, but once again represented New Jersey with pride at the National Tournament. We spent over 30 hours on the bus in 2 days and despite all the distractions the team prevailed in finishing in the tip 15% in the nation. 158 middle schools competed over the 3 day tournament and Oxford finished 23rd. The team performance top to bottom was the best we have ever had. Congratulations to all the archers and their families. Many thanks to all the people involved in getting us to the tournament. Your efforts are certainly appreciated.

On to Kentucky!

The archery team will be leaving on Thursday morning, May 9th. We will be heading to the National Archery in the Schools Program, National Tournament. The tournament will take place over 3 days and will include over 9,500 participants. This is over 2,000 more than last year and will once again be a new Guinness World Record as the world's largest tournament. Our team will be representing New Jersey in the middle school division. The archers will compete on Saturday afternoon. We will be traveling home Saturday night into Sunday morning. Thanks to everyone in the community who has supported the team, not only this year but in all our endeavors. We will be posting results as soon as we get them.

THANKS!

It is hard to comprehend the continuous outpouring of support this community has for the archery program at OCS. We will once again be representing New Jersey as Middle School State Champions at the National Tournament next week in Louisville, KY. The success of this program relies on many factors, one of the most important begin the support from the community. Groups and individuals from throughout Oxford,Warren County, and New Jersey have stepped up to offer their help.
The Oxford Emergency Squad, Resuce 39 dedicated an entire day to raising funds for the team, by collecting donations from cars at the intersection of 31 and 46. The OVFD offered their building to host a Jazz Night. Parents offered to put on a concert, food was donated, personal dontaions, sporting groups, T-shirt sales, flowers, a community shoot are just some of the events people have organized to help the team. There are so many Thank You's to offer, and I am aftraid to leave any one out.
Every year the community has allowed me to focus on instructing and coaching the archery team instead of fund-raising. It is truly an honor to coach these fine youg ladies and gentlemen. I know the team will represent Oxford, Warren County and New Jersey with pride at the National Tournament.
