DARE Celebration

The Oxford Central School DARE students celebrated the completing of the program with Officer Josh Masenior from the WTPD by attending an Education Day baseball game at Coca-Cola Park. The game featured the Louisville Bats vs. the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. The Pigs won the game 2-0. Many thanks to Officer Masenior for conducting the DARE classes at OCS. We include the DARE program and the DARE decision making models in our Family Life classes.

Nice Weather (Hopefully)

As the weather gets better, P.E. classes will be going outside and doing a variety of activities.  Our primary students will be practicing for field day which is scheduled for June 14th here at OCS. We will be using the back field, the basketball court and the large black top area on the side of the building. The day will be filled with fun cooperative games so the students can enjoy socializing and working together. Our older students are working on team games and learning strategies that can be Incorporated into softball or baseball.
Family Life classes are finishing up lessons on nutrition and connecting them to the different systems of the body. 3rd Grade has just finished a whole unit on Character Education watching and discussing the "Redwall" series by Brian Jacques. The series created some great discussions tying into our C.O.R.R.E.C.T. traits at school.
